Behind the Scenes with Preserve Rhode Island - Edward King House
Thanks to Preserve Rhode Island, The Edward King House is enjoying clearer vision in 2020. The window restoration project, completed this past summer, allowed the house to maintain its beautiful style while keeping up with modern day building codes.
The Edward King House was designed by architect Richard Upton in 1845. The Italiante Villa style home was donated to the city of Newport in 1912 by the King Family and served as a public library until 1968 when it began its new life as a community center for Newport’s senior citizens.
